Wishing Wave

2016 Sanzhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan
A dedication to the environment.
Community project

Symbolism - The mountains, the sea, the earth and our wishes for it's future.
The  sculpture represents 3 forms...
The shape of a  wave - the sea
The forms of two peaks - the mountains,
A curve - of the horizon of our earth.

The curve of the structure is high enough for people to pass under and through it.
This arch represents a contemporary Paifang where people pass under and through in a symbolic  gesture of passing through to meet with nature and the environment.
A low stool will be constructed and placed below the curve. A person can sit and contemplate nature in this place.
Colourful material banners are tied to the structure. People from the community have written their wishes for the invironment on the coloured banners which are tied to the structure ...similiar to the Wishing trees seen in Japan

Green represents the earth
Blue represents the seas, oceans and lakes
White represents the air
Orange represents renewable energy
